Situated in the Old Street area of London (known as Silicon round-a-bout) the Department for Deviation Studies charts aspirations, suggestions and personal future visions collected from people that live and work in the area. These multiple alternate futures sit in stark contrast to the governments’ current top-down vision for Old Street — a location to rival America’s Silicon Valley.
The Department held an evening event, with sound and films from archived futures — a curated space for social dreaming. Within this a workshop took place providing post-futurist consultation for members of the public on how to navigate the future landscape towards their individual foresights.
